The potential of Desenzano del Garda and the surrounding area for professional and tourist cycling is basically limitless Desenzano del Garda & Colnago is the perfect combination between one of the most important and historical brands of modern cycling, and a wonderful town on the shores of Lago di Garda!

Cycle the Gran Fondo Colnago 2024! On your first day, it is time for arrival and in the evening you get the chance to visit the expo area. On your next day, you’ll have a training ride around Lake Garde. Relax after the ride at the Expo area on the waterfront. The Gran Fondo Colnago is a 3-days event dedicated to the whole family, from little cyclists on the grass to the biggest of all. On day 3 it is time to cycle the Gran Fondo. You can choose between the long course with a total length of 140 km and a total Altitude difference of 2.010 m or the medium course with a total length of 108 Km and a total altitude difference of 1.384m. The Gran Fondo is especially famous due to its legendary climbs. The Passo Caldarola, Passo S. Barbara, cima Coppi, Passo del Cerro and Bagnolo ascent.

Check in
Check-in around 14.00h at your hotel. There will be a briefing, bike fitting, and explanation for the coming activities and itinerary for this Gran Fondo Colnago
Day 2
Saturday
Today you’ll cycle a nice guided training ride around Lake Garda. Relax after the ride at the Expo area on the waterfront. Summer in Desenzano del Garda never ends! The International Colnago Gran Fondo Race The Gran Fondo Colnago is a two-day event dedicated to the whole family, from little cyclists on the grass to the biggest of all, ready to have fun and compete on the roads and streets around Lake Garda. These welcome the best cyclists in the world the whole year round because the foothills of the Alps are the ideal training ground for taking on the challenges of a hard season.
Day 3
Sunday
You can choose between two courses
  • the long course with a total length of 140 km and a total altitude difference of 2.010 m
  • Or the medium course with a total length of 108 Km and a total altitude difference of 1.384m.
The Gran Fondo Colnago forms part of the new Colnago Cycling Festival. The route features legendary climbs including the Passo Caldarola, Passo S. Barbara, Cima Coppi, Passo del Cerro, and the famous Bagnolo ascent.  A well-deserved shower and a plate of pasta will be waiting after such a long day!

Departure day
Departure day... Time to say goodbye, a good flight back home, or a pleasant stay in Italy.
Medical
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE You must have a Medical Sports Certificate which was issued within 6 months of the event, which must be presented at race registration. This should state: 'The data of the athlete' the indication of the sport for which it required the visit to the doctor: CYCLING the statement of the sports doctor that THE ATHLETE, ON THE BASE OF MEDICAL CONTROL, DOES NOT HAVE CONTRAINDICATIONS

Airport

  • Milan has three important airports; the most important airport is Milan Malpensa, and from here many flights leave /arrive worldwide.
  • The second airport is Milan Linate which has a lot of domestic and European flights to all important cities in Europe. There is a shuttle bus connecting Malpensa with Linate Airport. The ride between the two airports takes more than an hour.
  • The third airport is Bergamo Airport (officially Orio al Serio International Airport) which is northeast of Milan, close to the city of Bergamo. This airport is especially used by budget companies like Ryanair.

Trains

  • From Milan Malpensa Airport to Milan Central station are Malpensa Shuttle busses departing: every 30 to 60 minutes Length: 1 hour.
  • From Milan Linate International Airport to Milan Central Station busses depart every 30 minutes Length: 20 minutes.
  • Bergamo Airport has no direct train connection, but there is a shuttle bus that takes you to the station in Bergamo.
