The Gran Fondo della Vernaccia is one of Italy's best cycling races as it combines the beauty of San Gimignano (a UNESCO world heritage site) together with the splendid hills of Tuscany. The professional organisation and the friendly and relaxing atmosphere of the Gran Fondo della Vernaccia making this event in once in your lifetime experience! You will immerse the strong emotions of the competition but you will also feel joyful! This 5 star cycling holiday trip showcases Tuscan scenery and tradition cuisine using, local products. The competition itself is one of the most anticipated in the country and there is an average of 1,500 participants each year. The course is a part of different competitions including the UNESCO Cycling Tour and the Giro del Granducato di Toscana. There are three different course lengths:

Day 1 Friday 04 May
Check in at your hotel in Colle Val d'Elsa. For those who want to have a pick up at Pisa or Florence airport please contact us.
Evening dinner will be provided. The tour leader will explain the coming activities and itinerary for this Gran Fondo Della Verrnaccia tour.
Day 2 Saturday 05 May
In the morning you will go on a tour around San Gimignano, stretching your legs and familiarize yourself with the local roads in preparation for the pending challenge. The afternoon is free for you to discover San Gimignano and Colle Val d'Elsa in your own time. Eveing at leisure
Day 3 Sunday 06 May
Finally, the day of the race! After an early breakfast, you will be taken to the centre of San Gimignano where there will be some time for last minute preparations. This is your moment: time to use your energy and replace it with the emotions of the race. When the competition is over, you will hold a pasta party, allowing you to let go of the emotions of the race, meet other participants and stock up on energy. The competition itself is one of the most anticipated in the country and there is an average of 1,500 participants each year. There are three different course lengths:
DAY 4 Monday 07 May
Departure day…. a good flight back home or a pleasant stay in Italy. Transfers to the airports of Pisa & Florence will be made by the tour guides on request.
Florence international Airport is named after one of the most famous Italians - Amerigo Vespucci. There is no train connection with the airport. From Florence railway station there are good connections to all kinds of cities in Italy. The airport is lies only four kilometers away from Florence. Shuttle buses leaving every 30 minutes. Florence airport is only 80 kilometres away from the airport of Pisa, Galileo Galilei.
Pisa Airport is two kilometres from Pisa, 20 kilometres from Lucca and 80 kilometres from Florence. You can find the train station just outside the terminal. Pisa Airport lies directly on the highway Florence-Pisa-Livorno. Because the airport is so close to the city a ride to the center of Pisa does not take more than ten minutes. Both airports are the gateway to Tuscany, one of the most popular holiday areas in Italy.
There are many flights:for example to/from Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Berlin, Rome, London Heathrow, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Athens, Zurich and many more very important cities from all around the Globe.
The airport of Pisa handles many budget airline companies like Ryanair or Transavia. Ryanair flies to/from Dublin, London, Edinburgh and Liverpool and Transavia to/from Rotterdam airport.
