Day 1
From Avignon to Chateauneuf du Pape
Arrival in Avignon, which is easily accessible from Paris by TGV. Make your way to the first hotel on your own, after checking in at your hotel, you will have the opportunity to explore the many sites of Avignon. Accommodation: Cloitre Saint Louis **** Hotel
Day 2
From Avignon to Chateauneuf du Pape - 34km / +250m
Today, you will ride through the vineyards of the renowned appellation Cotes du Rhone de Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and if you like, stop to visit and taste in one of the cellars of the village. On your way, you can stop at the village Roquemaure, where you can see the remains of the 12th-century medieval castle, where Pop Clement V died in 1314. Day 3
From Chateauneuf du Pape to St. Paul 3 Chateaux - 48km / +360m
On this itinerary, you will pass Serignan du Comtat, an important medieval village (origins go back to 6C BC), in the history of the Counts of Toulouse and the domain of Diane de Poitiers. Continue on to Rochegude in the Drome department and lavender country, and then on into the town of St. Paul les 3 Chateaux, where you can walk through its old cobbled streets and visit the historical church. Day 4
From St. Paul 3 Chateaux to Grignan - 31km / +430m
Today's ride will bring you to the village of Clansayes, before Grignan. In Clansayes, you will find the Templar Knights Tower, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the area Also, on your itinerary are the villages of Colonzelle and La Baume de Transit, with remains from a medieval castle. In Grignan, you stay below its famous chateaux in a very comfortable hotel. Accommodation: Le Clair de la Plume ****
Day 5
From Grignan Loop to La Garde-Adhemar - 41km / +520m
If you choose to ride, you will travel to the lavender areas around Grignan to La Garde Adhemar. This village is a classical provencal village with exceptional beauty. La Garda Adhemar has preserved its medieval structure and ramparts and was originally colonized during the Roman era by veterans of the Roman Legions in the 1st century. Return to Grignan. Accommodation: Le Clair de la Plume ****
Day 6
From Grignan to Vaison la Romaine - 46km / +500m
Vaison, a town of art, has a rich cultural heritage. It was built in the Middle Ages and modern times but the town owes its fame to the ancient Roman foundations and its ruins. La Romaine was added in 1924! Stay in a historic hotel in the center of town. Accommodation: Hostellerie Le Beffrio ***
Day 7
From Vaison la Romaine to Bedoin
You have the choice between 3 options for your ride today: Option 1: the easiest ride, it passes through the wine villages of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes de Venise to finish in Bedion. (39km /  +594m) Option 2: crosses the Dentelles de Montmirail, involving some climbs (40km / +675m) Option 3: ride Mont Ventoux, a famous Tour de France climb, fondly known as the Giant of Provence! (69km / +2059m) This option is a variant of Option 2 and will add 25km and at least 1-2 hours of climbing up to 1909 meters. Accommodation: Hotel des Pins ***
Day 8
Departure from Bedion & transfer to Avignon
Today is departure day, you can take your time getting started in the morning and then have breakfast. Transfer to Avignon (included), where you can add extra nights or catch a train to Paris. Transfer is scheduled for 09.30 (from your hotel) to the Avignon TGV Station. If you need this transfer for another time, please let us know. Allow 1 hour travel time before a train departure. Included: breakfast, transfer departure luggage transfer, and client transfer.
