This legendary Maratona dles Dolomites is one of the most popular and toughest Gran Fondos in the world. This great event started in 1987 and these days more than 9000 cyclists joining the number one cyclosportive in Italy. This cycle tour is a “must-do” event and a once-in-your-lifetime experience for every cyclist! A fantastic cycling tour to the Dolomites. This wonderful tour includes the famous “Maratona dles Dolomites” Granfondo/Sportive race around the classic Dolomites passes.

The mighty Dolomites in North Italy are perfectly located in the Northeast corner of Italy near Switzerland and Austria. This stunning area has one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in the Alps. The Dolomites are a real cycling paradise for every keen cyclist. Here you will experience one of the most challenging cycling tracks and mythical climbs. The Maratona has 3 route options. The Sella Ronda (short) course, the middle course, and the long course. Because all courses start and finish in Corvara, you can adapt your route on the day if things don’t go to plan.

Day 1
Thursday July 4 - Arrival
Please make your way to your chosen hotel. From Marco Polo there are airport transfers available to your hotel for you and your bike at 13.00* and 18.00*. The transfer is likely to take about 3 hours. On arrival and before dinner you will get together for an introductory meeting and a chance to get to know everybody on the trip. The transfer will depart the airport at 13.00 and at 18.00 so please ensure that your flight arrives at least 45 minutes before this time so that you are at the bus and ready to depart for this time. If your flight arrives after 13.00 or you are not able to get through arrivals before 13.00, the bus will depart and you will need to wait for the 18.00 transfer.
Day 2
Friday July 5 Guided warm-up ride
The bike guides and mechanics will assist you with unpacking and re-assembling your bike if needed. The guides will be on hand for any assistance you may require and we will enjoy the excellent food at the hotels. There will be a virtual race briefing ahead of the event. You can cycle the Sella Ronda, 52km, and includes four climbs, reaching an elevation of 1,800m. This ride will include what is considered by many to be the most splendid 50km ride on the planet.
Day 3
Saturday July 6
After breakfast today you can ride the short distance down to the race expo and registration area where you will collect your race bib. Please remember, your Official Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel medical certificate must be uploaded once you have completed online registration in May 2024, you will be unable to show your medical certificate at the Expo. You can sample the atmosphere and the rest of the day is free for you to rest before tomorrow’s event or go for a short ride. Evening meal at the hotel.
Day 5
Sunday July 7 Maratona dles Dolomites
Race day! You will be one of the lucky 9000 who have an entry for this event. After an early breakfast, we will ride the short distance to the start. The start is at 06h30 but you have to be in your pen before 06h15 as this is when the organizers close the pens. If you arrive after this time, you will be automatically re-directed to the last pen. After the finish, you will get together at the hotel to see how everybody did over a few beers followed by the evening meal.
Day 6
Monday July 8 Departure
There are 2-morning transfers from the hotel to Venice Marco Polo airport for your return flight if you have booked this service. The early transfer will depart at 06.00 for flights after 12.00 and the next one will be at 09.00 for flights departing after 15.00.
Medical
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
MEDICAL CERTIFICATE You must have a Medical Sports Certificate which was issued within 6 months of the event, which must be presented at race registration. This should state: 'the data of the athlete the indication of the sport for which it was required the visit to the doctor: CYCLING the statement of the sports doctor that THE ATHLETE, ON THE BASE OF THE MEDICAL CONTROL, DOES NOT HAVE CONTRADICATIONS'
