Talking about the Granfondo Fausto Coppi Officine Matteo means talking about a love story between cycling and the Granda Province. Its main town, Cuneo, surrounded by the Eastern Alps, has always been the point of departure and the arrival of this legendary cycling race. Its mountain roads with steep climbs and hairpin turns are the background to the several challenges athletes have to deal with during this amazing competition. Since its first edition in 1987, the event has seen thousands of athletes competing with the same jersey and the same fighting spirit. Participating in this event means discovering a territory rich in history, breathtaking landscapes, Italian cuisine, and wine. Day 1

Wednesday June 26

Officine Mattio’s staff will welcome you at the Hotel Castello Rosso in Costigliole Saluzzo to possibly help you during the check-in procedures. In the afternoon, you will have the chance to visit Officine Mattio’s headquarters, where you will fit your bikes. An easy ride in the outskirts of Cuneo will allow you to get acquainted with OM bikes! In the evening, you will relax and enjoy a typical dinner in a local restaurant. 3.00 pm: Check-in
4.00 pm: Visit Officine Mattio’s headquarters
5.30 pm: ride departure
7.00 pm: Officine Mattio welcome aperitif
8.00 pm: dinner

Day 2

Thursday June 27

You will enjoy a classic bike tour experience: amazing group rides on the famous routes of international cycling. Expert guides will give you all the support needed: vehicles behind riders; mechanical assistance; water, sports supplements, and energy bars supply. But, more importantly, a friendly atmosphere and a lot of fun and photos make these moments unforgettable! Daily averages - elevation 2000mt > km 120

8.00 am: breakfast
9.00 am: ride departure
3.00 pm: back to the hotel
3.30 pm: brunch at the hotel
4.30 - 6.30 pm: relax between the Spa and swimming pool
7.00 pm: transfer to the Langhe region and dinner in a typical restaurant

Day 3

Friday June 28

In the morning, you will enjoy a funny and relaxing ride that will allow us to discover the climbs that gave their names to the first three Officine Matteo bike models: Eremo, Brondello, and Lemma. In the afternoon, Giovanni and the other co-founders will tell the history of Officine Matteo, explaining its values and production, Daily averages - elevation 1200mt > km 70

3.00 - 5.00 pm: OM’s history
7.00 pm: transfer to Cuneo to a local restaurant

Day 4

Saturday June 29

The day will start with an easy pre-race ride to fit your bike. In the afternoon, you will be in Cuneo for the start of the Event 2021 La Fausto Coppi. There you will get your bib number and race gift pack. Afterward, you will attend the Welcome Ceremony, when cyclists from all over the world will be invited to come up on stage to greet the town. 8.00 am: breakfast
10.00 am: ride departure
1.00 pm: brunch at the OM’s headquarters
3.00 pm: Granfondo bib numbers’ distribution
5.00 pm: Cerimonia delle Nazioni -
Welcome Ceremony
6.00 pm: Officine Mattio aperitif
8.00 pm: dinner at Castello Rosso hotel

Day 5

Sunday June 30

Today is the day! You and your travel companions will be competing on the roads of the La Fausto Coppi's race. The crew will be at Esischie col waiting for the passage of cyclists at the supply stop Officine Matteo and support athletes. Check the routes here: GF La Fausto Coppi

5.00 am: breakfast
6.30 am: transfer by van towards Esischie col (2.370 mt)
12.30 am: transfer to Cuneo
5.30 pm: departure from Cuneo and back to the hotel
8.00 pm: dinner and great final party Officine Matteo

Day 6

Monday July 1

Departure day…..Time to say goodbye, have a good flight back home or else a pleasant stay in Italy

Medical Certificate

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE Additionally, all riders taking the Day Licence must have a Medical Sports Certificate which was issued within 6 months of the event and must be presented at race registration. This should state: 'the data of the athlete the indication of the sport for which it was required the visit to the doctor: CYCLING the statement of the sports doctor that THE ATHLETE, ON THE BASE OF THE MEDICAL CONTROL, DOES NOT HAVE CONTRADICATIONS'
