On the fifth of June the Giro d’Italia passed the Gavia summit in a snowstorm. The stage was one of the most heroic stages ever in de Giro d’Italia and was won by the Dutchman Eric Breukink. The route is very steep and narrow and it takes a lot of effort to conquer the Gavia.
