Monday Sport -Soria
The route with everything, rolling terrain, long flats, climbs and descents! Today’s menu gives you a long flat of almost 26km, out to Arguineguín and then very gently up to Cercado de Espinos. Save your energy, because from here on, it’s up into the heavens, 5km of an average 8% to Soria where a wonderful restaurant will serve you mango juice or wonderful cinnamon laced bread baked freshly on the premises. If there’s some rain in the mountains, an impressive waterfall can be seen up close near the restaurant. Return home the same way.

Monday Sport XL Presa de "Las Ninas"
A long day on the senses because there's too much to see! This wonderful circuit starts at Playa del Inglés, and follows the coast road west and heads inland for a long flat to “Cercado de Espinos”, before the road from 200m abruptly starts to climb and climb. Up through Tauropass at 915m and then onto the new road that takes us past “Presa de las Niñas”. This is big, wild and beautiful country, all the way up to Ayacata. Here we give the legs a rest before a long descent past Cruz Grande at 1247m and home to Playa del Inglés.

Tuesday Sport Santa Lucia - Fataga
Great sunny coastal route, bracing air and long climbs! Heading eastwards out of Playa del Inglés, you’ll have the morning sun glinting off the sea as you ride along the coast. Once past the aerodrome, get ready for a headwind which thankfully disappears as soon as you turn inland for the climb to Santa Lucia. You’ll see the massive valley of Lomo de Gallego and the imposing but tragic Fortaleza. A further climb to San Bartolomé, before a fun descent to Fataga and a couple of “surprise” climbs before the finish line. Route: 69 km Altitude: 1320m Tour start: Playa del Ingles. Tuesday Sport XL Temisas - Fataga An epic climb that you won´t ever forget, that´s a promise! We head north east along the coast catching the early morning sunshine. At Sardina we head inland and quickly enter the wild rolling valleys. You’ll be climbing in a nice steady gear, because there’s lots more climbing to come, up through the most inspiring rugged landscapes, via Temisas all the way up to Santa Lucia at almost 700m above sea level. There’s a final challenge though, another 300m up to San Bartolomé, before we descend to Fataga and back to Playa del Ingles.

Wednesday Sport - no Sport XL Pico de las Nieves
Today you won’t forget. From 20meter sea level you will ride up to the summit of Pico de las Nieves at 1950m altitude. This iconic climb is comparable with the climbs to the Mont Ventoux or the Tourmalet but slightly more difficult with 48km climbing kilometres to conquer. Today’s route goes through Fataga, San Bartolomé up to Cruz Grande at 1247 altitude with a short flat section . At Ayacate turn right for the last stretch to the summit. Don’t forget to take some nice picture before you descend all the way back to Playa del Ingles.
Route 101km –Altitude 2550m Tour start: Playa del Ingles
Thursday Sport XL - no sport Bandama Crater and Valsequillo
Visiting a volcanic crater that will take your breath away. (incl. shuttle). The starting point of today’s tour in a little place called Marzagan - on the east coast- is reached with a shuttle bus after cruising on the highway past the Gran Canaria Airport (Telde). We climb up the rim of the impresive Bandama volcanic crater and further up to the top of the mountains on a spiral road with breathtaking views of this protected natural area. A beautiful backroad takes us up to Valsequillo before we surf back in the tailwind down south.
Route: 92 km Altitude: 1700m 1790m Tour start: Playa del Ingles.
Friday Sport Fataga - Santa Lucia
Beautiful route up to 1000m and descend all the way home. Routes such as these make Gran Canaria a serious road cycling destination with an outstanding reputation! This tour has both long and short climbs, interspersed with both fast-paced and winding descents, as well as some long straights to practice your big rings speeds. All with the help of the famous east coast tailwinds in the last section to take you home to Playa del Inglés. This is the route to come back to Gran Canaria for again and again!

Friday Sport XL - Fataga - Temisas
Come at the best climbs from different directions, still legendary! After a flat start, we work up an industrial sweat in the morning sun on the way to “Mirador de Fataga”. A well-earned break where we can cool off in the breeze that blows up the “Grand Canyon”. A classic Italian descent followed by a fast tarmac climb delivers us to San Bartolomé, and from there down to the village of Santa Lucia. From there we climb again up a serious 6km incline to crest overlooking the mountain village of Temisas. Get ready now to enjoy a 10km descent on a perfect road all the down to Agüimes.

Saturday Sport - Tauropass
Serenity Climb today gets a mention as one of the best climbs in Spain. A long coast ride to start off today taking us to Puerto de Mogán, and from there starting to climb. We arrive in Mogán at 249m for a breather before we tackle the wonderful climb up to Tauropass at 915m, so the break at Casa Fernando in Soria will be most welcome! Don’t forget to try their fresh papaya juice and their cinnamon laced bread. It will give you the energy you need to stay with the group on the long pull on the flat back to Playa del Inglés.

Saturday Sport XL - Tauropass
The Sport Xl is slightly longer. Serenity Climb today gets a mention as one of the best climbs in Spain. Sunday sport Puerto de Mogán
A perfect Sunday coastal ride to Mogan. The fishing hamlet at Mogán is the midpoint of this rolling and undulating tour along the south coast road that goes from Playa del Inglés to Puerto de Mogán. The Atlantic Ocean always stays very close by -at sight- during the whole ride. Once in Mogán it´s the perfect time to take a coffee-break in one of the many cafés along the harbour front, then return to Playa along the same coast route.

Sunday Sport XL Mogán - Artenara
Go west to tackle the epic Valley of Tears. (incl. shuttle) Our new tour over to the west coast and up to Artenara will leave you breathless – in several ways. Just above Mogan, after a 40 min shuttle, we start by tackling two small climbs. At a viewpoint we get a glimpse of Tenerife and the west coast. After a quick stop to stock up on food and drinks in La Aldea, we climb up into a rocky, narrow gorge with epic scenery taking us all up to Artenara – the highest village of the island. We then pass through Tejeda and Ayacata on some less travelled roads on our way down to Playa del Inglés. We can’t think of a better way to spend our Sunday.

Airport Information road cycling and bike rentals Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria main airport is Gando airport or Las Palmas airport (LPA) and the most important hub to the Canary islands . There are many regular flights to/ from Paris (Charles de Gaulle), London (Heathrow. Gatwick or Stansted ), Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Moscow, Brussels, Barcelona, Rome and many other destinations from all around the Globe.
There are regular bus rides between the airport and most of the resorts on the island. A bus ride to Playa del Ingles takes about half an hour. The popular seaside resorts of San Augustin, Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas are accessible by bus. The buses 1, 5 and 36 run between Gran Canaria Airport and the most important places in southern Gran Canaria. The buses of Global have the most frequent timetable
Taxis can be booked via Taxi Tender ( approx 40 to 50 euros one fare) to San Augustin, Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas.
